Supervises hourly employees involved with the execution of production schedules and timely flow of materials in the material and/or production control operations. Work performed independently with some direct guidance from immediate supervisor.

Job Responsibilities:

1. Supervises material floor operations

2. Supports BPD / Scorecard achievement

3. Promotes, educates, communicates and follows up on safety initiatives, holding hourly employees accountable

4. Is responsible for the proper use and care of equipment

5. Maintains housekeeping in area

6. Maintains safety, attendance, vacation records, and BPD board visuals on plant floor

7. Supervises hourly employees

8. Practices good labor relations, complies and enforces local agreement

9. Trains, develops and evaluates employees

10. Coordinates hourly vacation requests with Business Manager

11. Responsible for supporting Production's ability to 'Build in Station"

12. Utilizes appropriate inventory controls and follows up

13. Responsible for maintaining all floor material systems supporting delivery methods

14. Coordinates operational changes with production

15. Returns improperly completed scrap tags to the appropriate department so that correct information can be entered into the material scrapping system

16. Processes and scraps all parts, components, or vehicles per approved scrap procedures

17. Implements, monitors and maintains GMS elements

18. Maintains ISO standards

19. Responsible for reprocessing hourly work elements in support of any BPD and planning initiatives

20. Meets workgroup's budgets

21. Supports the departments cost reduction initiatives and gap closure requirements



Skills and Abilities:

1. Good verbal and written communications skills

2. Excellent interpersonal skills to work effectively with others, motivate employees and elicit work output

3. Relatively high level of analytical ability where problems are complex

4. Knowledge of unit scheduling and inventory control systems, as well as unit products, processes and departmental relationships

Education and/or Training:

1. College Degree in Supply Chain and/or equivalent experience
